In its Extraordinary Version No. 2, the Official Gazette of the Republic reported the extension to April 30, 2025 of tax-free non-commercial imports of food, toiletries, medicines and medical supplies as non-accompanied baggage in packages of up to 50 kg or equivalent to USD 500 in value.

Likewise, the resolution authorizes an increase from USD 200 to 500 of the value of non-commercial imports made by individuals and maintains the tax exemption for the first USD 30 of the value or its equivalent weight of 3 kg of items, as well as the 30% charge for packages in excess of this weight.

It also specifies that imports worth up to USD 200 or weighing up to 20 kg made by individuals are allowed via air, maritime and postal shipments.
The benefits set forth in the resolution are conditional on the relevant items being shipped in separate packages.
