Holguín: National contest of poetry convened

The branch of the Hermanos Saíz Association (AHS) in Holguín and the Provincial Center for Books and Literature convene the 27th edition of the New Voices of Poetry National Contest 2022.
Norge Luis Labrada, president of the AHS in the territory, commented to ACN that in this edition the work of renowned singer-songwriter Silvio Rodríguez will be honored on the occasion of his birthday, on November 29.
All authors under 35 years of age residing in the country and who have not published work can participate in the contest, whether or not they are members of the AHS, with a collection of poems with a free theme with an extension between ten and fifteen pages.
The works will be sent to the email This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. with a pseudonym and the author's data and location method, in a separate document, as a sealed envelope.
The admission period expires on November 15; and a jury, made up of prestigious figures of Cuban letters, will announce the results on the 29th of the same month.
The award includes the publication of the winning work by La Luz publishing house in the Analekta collection, in addition to an accrediting Diploma and book collection.
Founded in 1992 as the "New Voices of Poetry Contest in Holguín" and coordinated for 25 years by the literary promoter Joaquín Osorio, Raúl Ferrer National Prize for the Promotion of Reading, the contest aims to contribute to the development of poets who are not yet visible in the literary scene.
Since 2018, the contest extended its call to the national territory, under the name of New Voices of Cuban Poetry, joining the AHS awards system in the country.
