The importance of interpretation centers as an innovative tool for heritage management was highlighted in the province of Holguín during a series of conferences aimed at preserving local traditions and intangible values.

These centers promote natural and cultural history, allowing visitors to quickly understand the site they through exhibitions, traveling displays, and the use of new technologies, especially in areas far from cities and connected to natural parks, Aida Liliana Morales Tejeda, head of the applied research department at the Union of Historians in Santiago de Cuba, told ACN.

Unlike conventional museums, interpretation centers do not focus on collecting objects but on raising awareness about the preservation of cultural and natural riches, encouraging the use and consumption of typical products from the area where they are located, she noted.

Their design incorporates modern elements such as attractive typography, chronological tables, and didactic methods for conferences, making them accessible to diverse audiences and more cost-effective than conventional museums.

During the event, successful experiences from Santiago de Cuba were presented, particularly in the preservation of coffee plantation routes and the Mangos de Baraguá site, underscoring the potential of these centers for value formation and tourism promotion. (Source: ACN)
