The Music with Humor Festival is taking place in the city of Holguín from today until June 4th, dedicated to the 114th anniversary of the birth of Faustino Oramas, a Cuban troubadour and tres player internationally recognized for songs like "Ay Candela" and "Como baila Marieta."

The event aims to integrate educational, artistic, dance, and humorous elements, with a special focus on strengthening ties with the community and students from the province's art schools.

The festival promotes knowledge exchange among artists and involves students from the Regional Academy of Arts El Alba and the José María Ochoa Music Conservatory, who present works and performances inspired by El Guayabero. It also features musical, comedic, and dance performances by invited artists like Lucrecia Marín, the duo Cari Care, and Gilberto Delgado.

The program includes debates with researchers and musicologists, audiovisual screenings about Faustino Oramas’s life and work, as well as a pilgrimage and floral tribute in his memory.

Established in 2001, the festival annually honors El Guayabero and celebrates the connection between music and humor in Cuban culture. (Source: ACN )
