The Hermanos Saíz Association (AHS) in Holguín is calling for the 33rd edition of the World Festival of Artistic Youth, Romerías de Mayo, which will take place from May 2 to 8, 2026, in this eastern city.
This edition will be dedicated to the 40th anniversary of the AHS and the centenary of Fidel Castro, under the theme “Tradition and modernity in defense of the identity values of our peoples.”
Project submissions are open until December 31, 2025, with the selection process taking place in January 2026. Each artist will be notified of their participation between February 1st and 15th.
The festival will include traditional activities such as Cámara Azul, Babel, Palabras Compartidas, and the Congress of Thought, reaffirming Romerías as a key space for youth culture and art in Cuba.
Considered as the major activity organized by the Hermanos Saiz Association (AHS) in Cuba, Romerías de Mayo (May Pilgrimages) have been held in Holguín since May 3, 1994, turning this city into the capital of Young Art.
