The international crafts fair Iberoarte 2025 will take place in Holguín from October 17 to November 1, with the participation of national and foreign exhibitors from countries such as Peru and Mexico.

Carmen Hernández, deputy commercial director of the Holguín branch of the Cuban Fund for Cultural Assets (FCBC), announced at a press conference that the national exhibitors include representatives from the provinces of Santiago de Cuba, Las Tunas, Havana, and Holguín.

She said that this year's fair will be dedicated to the centennial of Commander-in-Chief Fidel Castro Ruz and to seven important figures in the history of the FCBC in Holguín: Julia Borrego, Maurice Fonseca, María del Carmen Aguilera, Elena Pozo, Jorge Luis Betancourt, Lauro Echavarría, and Julio Méndez.

The fair, which will take place at the ExpoHolguín fairgrounds, aims to reach out to the communities and other municipalities, including Moa and Gibara. In addition, donations will be made to homes for elderly people and children without parental care.

The Salón Lote, a space for the visual arts, this time in competition format, will be held as part of Iberoarte 2025 and the Ibero-American Culture Festival.

Danilo Garcés, member of the Iberoarte 2025 organizing committee and space manager, announced that this year's exhibition will be dedicated to the artist Blanca Chacón Rodríguez and folk art.

He also announced the participation of about 30 artists, championing various techniques and that the prize awarded will be the acquisition of the winning piece for a value chosen by the artist, thereby promoting institutional collecting.
