Codanza’s Mark on Holguín’s Cultural Scene

The Holguín Dance Company Codanza is preparing a season of premieres for September in Holguín, led by the choreography Cuadrilátero.
According to its director and choreographer, Vianki González Miranda, the company works to preserve the group’s artistic quality and show Holguín’s audiences that Codanza remains active.
Throughout the year, the collective has revived works from its repertoire, continued ballet classes, and welcomed new students. It was also well received during the International Dance Day celebrations and the Romerías de Mayo festival, and worked with Professor Erick Rivera of the University of Virginia on staging the piece Shadows.
Cuadrilátero, a work with diverse themes and an open structure, will be part of Codanza’s 34th-anniversary celebrations. It will have a single performance, with the date still to be announced, at Calixto García Park.
By bringing its performances into public spaces and strengthening its presence on social media, Codanza seeks to maintain direct contact with the community.
Founded on September 29, 1992, by Maricel Godoy, the company aims to preserve its connection with audiences while expanding its artistic and international horizons. (Source: Radio Angulo)
