Holguín Hospital, Encouraging Achievements in 20 Years of Founding

The Lucía Íñiguez surgical hospital of Holguín shows a renewed image and encouraging achievements in its services to the people on occasion of its 20th Anniversary, on November 28th.
Dr. Luis Manuel García Niebla, director of this health institution, highlighted among the achievements the performance of minimal access surgeries and bone and kidney transplants.
In that sense, he added, the surgical activity has increased with the incorporation of specialties previously located in the Vladimir Lenin hospital, also in the city of Holguín, such as neurosurgery, orthopedics and maxillofacial, among others.
The results achieved in kidney transplants in recent times distinguish the medical work of health professionals at the Lucia Iñiguez.
At the same time, the ophthalmological center, inserted 12 years ago to the facility, stands out due to the trajectory maintained and boasts a high number of patients satisfactorily operated from the incorporation of new technologies.
As of repair and maintenance works, the clinical laboratory, the kitchen area, the lobby and the construction of a new geriatric ward for specialized care were undertaken on the basis of the two decades of foundation.
Founded on November 28, 1998, the surgical hospital of Holguín is distinguished by the integrality in the medical services through the different specialties, thus contributing to the improvement of the health status of the population and the training of new specialists in the field of medicine.
