Health Minister Jose Angel Portal expressed on Thursday the certainty that the 28th brigade of the Henry Reeve Contingent will put the principles of solidarity of the Cuban Revolution on high in Mozambique.

They will leave to provide medical care to the victims of Cyclone Idai, one of the worst to hit Africa in decades, Portal said on Twitter.

After describing the epidemiological situation in Mozambique as complex, the official summoned the 40 brigadistas to join the more than 270 Cuban collaborators who currently provide services there, according to an office of the daily Granma. They will set up a field hospital donated by the largest island in the Antilles, in which 16 doctors, 22 graduates and two service workers will work in consultations, an operating room, a clinical and microbiological laboratory, imaging equipment and more than 20 hospital beds, the text adds.
