The winter high season in the Holguín tourist pole will maintain similar air operations to the territory as in the last one, with around 68 weekly operations from seven markets, including the incorporation of two new direct connections from Prague, Czech Republic, which began on November 2 and soon, the destination will be connected to the capital of Slovakia, Bratislava.

Although the high season of tourism in Cuba begins on November 1 and extends until the month of March and in some cases, the first days of April, the greatest arrivals of visitors to the Frank País international airport are from the second half of December, as in the case of Holguín, with the entrance of tourists from Canada, the main source market for the island.

Carlos Álvarez Infante, a representative of the Ministry of Tourism in Holguín, explained that with the recent inauguration of the Sierra Cristal hotel in El Ramón de Antilla, Holguín increased its housing capacity to 8,582, which are available to all clients who prefer this region with abundant beaches among the most beautiful in the Cuban archipelago.

Likewise, there is a wide portfolio of excursions to the most emblematic sites of the province, such as Cayo Bariay, Gibara, Aldea Taína, the city of Holguín and its historic center, Loma de la Cruz; Salto del Guayabo, in Pinares de Mayarí, among others.

“Remember that due to the proximity to our province, clients can also visit the historic city of Santiago de Cuba or the first city of Cuba, Baracoa,” he said.

He pointed out that “the tourism sector has not been immune to the economic situations that the country faces; However, with the professionalism and responsibility that characterizes all of its workers, we have not stopped providing the service that visitors who choose us deserve and, above all, we continue to provide peace, health and safety tourism, which children and families, young people, adults and senior citizens can enjoy; for a tourism of healthy recreation, culture and rest," as our Commander in Chief Fidel highlighted at the inauguration of the Playa Pesquero Hotel in January 2003.

This year, the province has hosted important promotional events for the Holguín tourism product, including the Second Macro International Convention in Cuba DITGestion, in October, which had the Grand Memories Holguín Hotel as its main venue.
