Holguín to host national seminar "The Man of Caguairán"

The IV National Seminar “The Man of Caguairán”, dedicated to discussing the thought of Fidel Castro, will be held in Holguín from February 24 to 26, with the participation of pioneers, researchers and teachers from all over the country.
The event, sponsored by the Movimiento Juvenil Martiano (MJM), the Union of Historians of the province and the University of Holguín (UHo), aims to enhance the figure of the historic leader of the Cuban Revolution in the construction of the national imaginary and identity.
Reynaldo Zaldívar Osorio, president of the MJM in Holguín, informed ACN that the seminar will be held virtually and in person and will include conferences, debates, tours of historical centers and commission work that will conclude in Birán, the birthplace of Fidel Castro.
The event, unique of its kind in the country, will be distinguished by the national perspective that will be given to Fidel, his history and career from the beginning of his libertarian activities until his physical disappearance, explained Zaldívar Osorio.
He also commented that the meeting will also remember the first speech of the historical figure in the eastern territory, on February 26, 1959, and will invite young people from other universities around the world to study the life and thought of the legendary Commander.
The call for the fourth edition, open until February 10, admits works from all young people in the country, with 35 years of age or older, in the categories of poetry, essay, research, music, painting, sculpture, biographies, works written by pioneers, software and photography.
The Caguairán Man is one of the three main events organized by the MJM, along with other institutions, dedicated to defending and promoting the thought of Martí and Fidel among Cuban youth.
