In the honor guard, which began at seven in the morning and will continue until around twelve noon, the photos of the fallen combatants on January 7 are placed to be honored by their relatives and the representation of the Holguín people made up of workers, students and leaders.

According to a note released by the Minfar, the accident occurred in a construction site that stored war material belonging to the Military Region of Holguín, in the Eastern Army and the possible cause was associated with an electrical failure caused by a short circuit inside the facility.

For his part, Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, President of the Republic, decreed official mourning from six o'clock until midnight today, a period in which the flag of the lone star will be raised at half-mast in public buildings and military institutions. (Source: ACN)
