Tumba el Boqueo Expedition tours Holguín University

The "Tumba el Bloqueo" Youth Expedition began with a meeting between students and graduates of the University of Holguín, visiting various institutions in the province to discuss the impact of the economic, commercial, and financial blockade imposed by the United States on Cuba for over six decades.
This initiative, promoted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Union of Young Communists (UJC), aims to inform and raise awareness among young people about the real consequences of this extraterritorial policy on different sectors of the Cuban economy.
The project includes training facilitators, mainly students of Law and Sociocultural Studies, who will convey these messages in the municipalities of Holguín.
Besides the meeting at the University of Holguín, the expedition has visited the University of Medical Sciences, the Electric Company, and the Lázaro Peña Cigar Factory, and plans activities in teacher schools, high schools, and local communities.
The main goal is to encourage debate in student, community, and work settings to counter media campaigns that downplay the effects of the blockade and to highlight its concrete influence on Cuba’s current reality.
