Cuba-Russia friendship praised in Holguín

In the panel held today highlighted the historic friendship between Cuba and Russia, reflected in the preservation of the Russian language, cuisine, and cultural traditions within the local Russian-speaking community in the province of Holguín.
Natasha Prónina, coordinator of this event, told ACN that this brotherhood has deep roots dating back to the era of the former socialist republics, with a focus on trade and student exchange.
She pointed out that several activities are promoted in Holguín to maintain these ties, such as meetings with descendants, cultural events, book presentations and scientific gatherings.
As part of the meeting, Russian cultural elements such as films, operas and the traditional Russian tea were shared, customs that have been preserved in the Caribbean island over the years,
Leonardo Nieves Cruz, member of the Russian-speaking community, praised the role of scientific organizations in promoting the socialization of these tradictions and strengthening human relations.
This event was part of the Expociencia 2025, which promotes collaboration between state companies and economic actors, whose lines of work include local development and territorial projects.
The program also included the gathering “Science with Culture and Environment”, with the presentation of the latest issue of the Revista Bimestre Cubana of the Sociedad Económica Amigos del País, one of Cuba's oldest organizations. (Source: ACN)
