The Nickel Engineering and Projects Company (Ceproníquel), located in the municipality of Moa, in Holguín, takes advantage of production waste, as part of the circular economy programs to protect the environment.
Eriolis Vega Matos, a specialist in the area in that entity, told ACN that the program aims to recycle leftover paper from graphic services to create educational materials and crafts for schools, daycare centers, and hospitals.
They also reuse plastic and cardboard to make toys and educational games, supporting science events and community workshops.
As part of the environmental protection programs, the industry promotes reforestation with endemic species and participates in the Ecoarte community project.
At the same time, the entity maintains its corporate purpose of coordinating actions of the Cubaníquel Business Group, with high quality standards established for the exploitation of the mineral.
Ceproníquel, recognized as National Vanguard, has 39 years of sustained work in environmental preservation through pollution reduction, waste recycling, and environmental education. (Source: ACN)
