Holguín province has added six new ambulances equipped with advanced life support technology, aimed at improving the healthcare system in an equal number of municipalities.
This addition strengthens emergency medical services across the región.

The vehicles, manufactured by Dongfeng and with a fuel efficiency of eight kilometers per liter, will soon begin operating in the municipalities of Holguín, Báguanos, Cueto, Banes, Calixto García, and Rafael Freyre, expanding healthcare coverage and response capacity.
In addition, the region is expected to receive five more ambulances in 2026—four electric and one combustion-powered—according to the Ministry of Public Health’s plan.
This delivery reflects the Cuban government’s support for the healthcare system despite economic challenges linked to the tightening U.S. embargo.
