The opening of Children's Houses for boys and girls in early childhood benefits the working mother.
To the east of the city of Holguín, there is the Los Criollitos day care home. Here the infants from the second to the sixth year of life enjoy all the guarantees.
The Children's Houses are a variant of educational attention, in the institutional modality of early childhood.
Since October 31, 2003, this children's house is the only one opened in the province, as part of the Program for the Advancement of Women.
The enrollment is made up of 115 children. The same educational program as in the day care centers is taught here.
They have a teacher and 11 teaching assistants trained by Education.
Continuity of study in semi-boarding schools is also guaranteed. For general care there are the nurse and the service operative assistants.
This program also has a social impact, since the workers ensure here the capacities for the care of their children and leave places available in the territory's daycare centers.
These are the first actions of the province to encourage the incorporation of women into social life from the different sectors of society and economic actors.
