WHO reports fewer infections, but more deaths from Covid-19

The World Health Organization (WHO) reported that in recent days were recorded fewer infections with the SARS-CoV-2 virus, causing the Covid-19, but it is notable the increase in deaths from the disease.
In the last 28 days, some 20 million coronavirus infections were diagnosed worldwide, 78% fewer than in the previous 28 days, and 114,000 more deaths were recorded, an increase of 65%,” the report said.
Epidemiological trends in recent weeks have been dominated by a large surge in cases and deaths in the Western Pacific region.
The number of new infections reported in this period declined in all WHO regions.
In the Western Pacific (-81%), South-East Asia (-71), Europe (-63), the Americas (35), Africa (-20) and the Eastern Mediterranean (15).
The highest number of new deaths in the last 28 days was recorded in China, the United States, Japan, the United Kingdom and Brazil.
