Leuris Pupo present in Azerbaijan World Shooting Championship

Holguín’s Leuris Pupo, double Olympic medalist, heads the Cuban delegation that participates in the 53rd World Shooting Championship 2023 in Baku, Azerbaijan, where he is accompanied by the current Pan American and Central Caribbean champion, Jorge Félix Álvarez, in the 25-meter rapid fire pistol.
A total of seven Cubans are attending the World Championship qualifying for the Olympic Games next year.
Also participating in the event are the rifle shooter, Dianelis Pérez and Lisbet Hernández, as well as the air pistol and sports pistol specialists Laina Pérez, Sheyla González and Jorge Grau.
The Cuban delegation is also made up of the head of the delegation, Arnaldo Rodríguez and the coaches Meinardo Torres, Dariel Suárez and Yoelisi Lois, Valdés said.
A total of 1,239 athletes from 101 countries are taking part in the event, in which 55 award-giving ceremonies will be held in the Olympic and non-Olympic categories, while 48 licenses will be awarded for the Summer Olympics in Paris.
The 53rd World Shooting Championship is held in Baku 2023 from August 14 to 31, 2023 under the organization of the International Shooting Federation and the Azerbaijan Shooting Sports Federation. (Source: Prensa Latina)
