Holguín: Ulicer Aguilera wins silver medal at Tunisian Grand Prix

Holguín-born Paralympic medalist Ulicer Aguilera Cruz won the silver medal in javelin throw at the 2025 World Para Athletics Grand Prix in Tunisia. The athlete competed in the F13 category with a throw of 59.00 meters, earning 792 points according to the WPA (World Para Athletics) scoring table.
Despite making only three attempts, Aguilera Cruz placed second in an event that included athletes from various functional classes (F12, F13, F37, F38, and F64), behind Japanese Yuta Wakoh (F12), who reached 54.68 meters with a highest score of 819, while the bronze went to Manjeet of India (F12), with a score of 50.96 meters and 734 points.
Ulícer's result confirms his consistency and competitive level as he prepares for the World Para Athletics Championships in New Delhi 2025, to be held from September 27 to October 5 of this year.
With this silver medal, Ulicer adds to his list of achievements this year at the Cali 2025 Grand Prix, where he threw 57.96 meters to claim the top prize.
