The Holguín baseball team swept Guantánamo in the Sub-23 National Series solidifying their position as leaders of Group D with four wins and two losses.
In the third game, Holguín once again defeated the Indios del Guaso 2-0, matching the score of the first game.
Both teams recorded four hits, but Guantánamo committed two defensive errors while Holguín made none.
Pitcher Ramiro Rodríguez was key, striking out 10 batters over six innings and earning the win, while Andriw Valido secured the save. In the first two games of the series, Holguín won 2-0 and 9-0, with strong performances from pitchers Norge Luis Cobas and Orleydis Cuba.
The team showed notable improvement in pitching and defense, allowing few runs and errors compared to their previous series against Santiago de Cuba.
The batting was also timely, driving in runs when it mattered most. Holguín will next face Granma in a doubleheader at the Mayor General Calixto García Íñiguez stadium.
