Holguín hosts youth judo tournament

The Fernando de Dios Buñuel Sports Center in Holguín is hosting the youth judo tournament, as part of the National Games for this category, held over three days and bringing together the best competitors from several Cuban provinces.
The Holguín team features a full roster with standout judokas in both female and male divisions.
In the women's category, notable athletes include Julianni Marcané (48 kg), María Carla Vargas (52 kg), Helen Robira (57 kg), Camila Lorenzo (63 kg), Yurisleydi Leyva (70 kg), and Aslin Alpajón (78 kg).
The men's team includes José Miguel Ávila (60 kg), Franco Flores (66 kg), Eduardo Pantoja and Miguel Díaz (73 kg), Manuel González (90 kg), and Vanner Depont (100 kg).
In the first day of competition, Holguín earned a silver medal with María Carla Vargas and two bronze medals with Helen Robira and Franco Flores.
Gold medals in various categories went to athletes from provinces such as Artemisa, Havana, and Pinar del Río.
This event is crucial for discovering new talents who will represent Cuba in future international competitions.
