Holguín won three medals at Cuba Athletics Cup

The Holguín athletes won one gold, one silver, and one bronze during their participation in the Cuba Athletics Cup, with standout performances in the triple jump and pole vault events.
The highlight was triple jumper Andy E. Hechavarría, who won the gold medal with a jump of 16.77 meters. He outperformed Gianni Baxter from Camagüey and Anthony Martínez from Havana.
Hechavarría stated that his preparation for the Central American and Caribbean Games is progressing well and that he has managed to consistently achieve marks above 17 meters.
In the pole vault, Holguín also reached the podium thanks to Karel Parson and Cale Durán, who earned silver and bronze with jumps of 5.10 and 5.00 meters, respectively.
The event was won by Liván Torres from Cienfuegos with 5.31 meters, rounding out Holguín’s strong performance in the competition.
