Holguín footballer will represent Cuba in Concacaf U-20 Championship

Holguín football player, Miguel Ángel Morales, has been included in the Cuba’s squad for the Concacaf U-20 Championship, a tournament in which Cuba will try to secure a place at the 2027 FIFA U-20 World Cup, the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics, and the 2027 Lima Pan American Games.
His selection for the 21-player roster is recognition of his development and of Holguín’s contribution to the country’s youth national teams.
The Cuban squad consists of three goalkeepers, six defenders, five midfielders, and seven forwards, with the goal of securing one of the available spots for the major international competitions of the next Olympic cycle.
The Concacaf U-20 Championship will bring together several of the region's top national teams in a highly competitive tournament, where teams will seek to advance their qualification for the U-20 World Cup and secure their participation in other multi-sport events.
Cuba shares its group with El Salvador, Haiti, and the United States. Under the tournament format, the top two teams in each group, plus the two best third-place teams, advance to the next round.
