Esteban Lazo Re-elected as President of the National Assembly

"Only the strategic and dialectical unity of all revolutionaries will guarantee the fulfillment of the tasks that the people entrust to us," said Esteban Lazo Hernández, president of the National Assembly of People's Power, upon receiving his position during the first working session of the 9th legislature in the Havana Convention Center.
In compliance with the provisions of the Law, the State Council is elected, in accordance with the provisions of the Law. Gisela Duarte, president of the Candidacy Committee, proceeded to present the candidates.
After the analysis of the preparation, merits and conditions of the candidates and taking into account their commitment to the Revolution, Miguel Mario Díaz Canel, current First Vice President, was proposed for the position of President of the Council of State of the Republic of Cuba.
Salvador Valdés Mesa was proposed as the first vice president, while Ramiro Valdés Menéndez, Roberto Tomás López Ojeda, Gladis María Bejeraro Portella, Ines María Chapman and Beatriz Jonhson Urrutia were proposed as vice presidents. The other 23 proposed members were also presented.
The deputies have an hour to analyze the biographies of those proposed to subsequently exercise their right to vote, as determined by law.
