Miguel Díaz Canel Proposed President of the Council of State

Miguel Mario Díaz Canel Bermúdez was proposed by the commission of Candidacy for President of the Council of State. Compañero Díaz Canel was born in the province of Villa Clara. He graduated in 1982 as an Electronics Engineer.
He joined the Revolutionary Armed Forces and served as a professor at the Central University Martha Abréu of Las Villas. In 1987 he became a cadre of the Young Communists League. At the beginning of the 90s, he began his work as a cadre of the Communist Party of Cuba and in 1994 he was elected as First Secretary of the Provincial Committee in Villa Clara and then Second Secretary of the National Committee of the UJC.
He is 57 years old and has served as first secretary of the Communist Party of Cuba in Villa Clara and Holguín provinces and is currently the first Vice President of the Council of State and Ministers in Cuba.
