The Stereo G Festival, which makes Holguín the epicenter of electronic music in Cuba every summer, returns this Friday to Caletones beach, in the municipality of Gibara, the usual venue for the event, with the participation of national and local projects.
Sponsored by the Hermanos Saíz Association and the Electronic Music Laboratory, the event will be dedicated to the 35 anniversary of the AHS in Holguín and to the late Ernesto “Tiko” Hidalgo, one of its creators and leader of the Electrozona project together with Luis Angel Jimenez.
Jiménez, organizer of Stereo G, explained at a press conference that after two years of holding the Festival online due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the event will again promote the work of prominent Cuban DJs and young artists from Holguín.
He referred to Axennar, the first woman of the turntables in Holguín, who will share her creations together with the projects Electrozona, Acid Seduction, Arte, The Kun, Alex6music, Rakxo and Dian, from Havana.
Jiménez pointed out that with a variety of styles within the electronic genre, the participants will also use visual effects with the intention of contributing to the promotion of electronic culture.
The Stereo G Festival, which since its creation in 2012 is among the most anticipated spaces by Cuban youth, will include environmental sanitation actions in the Caletones arenas and exchanges on music and literature with local students.
