The execution of around 20 works of social impact in sectors such as health and tourism is among the main achievements by the Holguín branch of the Cuban Fund for Cultural Assets (FCBC) in 2023.
Carmen Hernández, deputy commercial director of the subsidiary in the territory, highlighted among the most important works the expansion of the Holguín Psychiatric Hospital and the restoration of the perinatology room and areas of the emergency room at the V.I. Lenin University Hospital.
According to Hernández, works were also carried out at the general management office and the roof of the Lucia Íñiguez Landín Clinical Surgical Hospital, as well as the design and placement of the decorative false ceiling and lighting. The hydraulic and sanitary installation of the microbiology laboratory of the Octavio de la Concepción de La Pedraja pediatric hospital was also improved.
Iliuva Leyva Sánchez, member of the Arcai artistic creation project, presented the results obtained through four lines of work, highlighting the work in the homes of children without family protection and in vulnerable neighborhoods.
She explained that Arcai has among its objectives to rescue the cultural heritage and identity of Cuba, which is why they market products and souvenirs that reflect the idiosyncrasy of the territory.
Manuel Hernández Ramos, director of the Holguín branch of the FCBC, commented that despite being the year in which the greatest number of pieces of plastic arts was sold, it is necessary to look for alternatives that allow obtaining the main materials used in the realization of the works and giving participation also to the artists.
The Cuban Fund of Cultural Assets promotes the works and services of creators of the plastic and applied arts, aimed at the development of aesthetic values and the defense of the cultural values of society, distinguishing itself for the authenticity of its proposals. (Source: ACN)
