32nd International Book Fair begins in Holguín

The 32nd edition of the International Book Fair, scheduled for March 20-24, began in the city of Holguín with an opening gala in front of the Alex Urquiola Provincial Library.


The event included the participation of the Holguín Symphony Orchestra under the direction of Oreste Saavedra, the Palabras al Viento Oral Storytelling Company, the La Campana Folklore Company, the Poiesis Dance project and the Bella Voce.

The gala was dedicated to the literature, music and culture of Brazil, guest of honor country. It also served to honor the writer Emerio Medina, winner for two times of the Julio Cortázar Ibero-American Short Story Prize.

The Great Bookstore opened its doors to the public with several proposals that will be for sale at its usual headquarters, the Plaza de La Marqueta Cultural Complex.

Until March 24, readers will be able to enjoy the wide program of this edition, dedicated to the Federative Republic of Brazil, the tenth anniversary of Conciencia Ediciones, and the 65 years of the Alex Urquiola Provincial Library.
