The city of Holguin has resumed this summer season the so-called Noches Holguineras, which have become a good option for family enjoyment with popular music and creole food offers.

Those who reach the surroundings of the Calixto Garcia baseball stadium can find offers in restaurants, markets, ice cream parlors, candy stores and bakeries that extend their services in rustic and welcoming kiosks, consistent with the high summer temperatures in Cuba.

In the outer area of the stadium, platforms have been installed for the performance of comedians, fashion companies and local music bands.

Noches Holguineras, experienced for the first time in 2014, offers cultural and recreational proposals for all ages, gaining great acceptance by the people.

Those who arrive to the place can also enjoy the music of the “organo oriental”, a peculiar instrument introduced from France in the 19th century, which works as a music box, as the music is performed by two big cranks handled by a man. It became popular in the festivities of the time for its sticky sound.

It also includes the sale of fruits, vegetables and products marketed by the Frutas Selectas Company, as well as offers by entities such as Labiofam with natural and traditional medicine highly demanded in recent times.

As the night progresses the atmosphere becomes more welcoming, people from the city converge attracted by the smell of roasted pork and the contagious rhythms of the national and foreign music, in a Cuban carnival that distinguishes the eastern territory.
