The Hotel Saratoga stands at the central corner of Maceo and Martí streets. The magnificent two-floor building of the most representative of the eclectic architecture of the city of Holguín opened its doors on Saturday, November 7.
This high-comfort facility is operated by Hotel Chain E of the Cubanacán group, with 12 rooms, lobby-bar, cafeteria, kitchen and patio interior with fountain included, all areas set according to the time of its construction at the beginning of the last century, among them photographs of the city of Holguín and its construction.

The facility opened in a first stage with the lobby bar, then the light food cafeteria, followed by the accommodation service in its 12 rooms, two on the first floor and 10 on the second, mostly distinguished by their view of the heart of the city.

After being declared in danger of collapse in 1984, in September 2016 the architect José Rodolfo Quiles de la Torre, head of the Saratoga Project, on behalf of the UEB Inmobiliaria Holguín entered the old building with the project of the Service Company of Engineering and Design of Holguín VERTICE to undertake the construction work of the property (protection degree I) and thus return to the southwest corner of Calixto García Park the splendor of yesteryear, safeguarding the art and historical testimony of the time and turn it into a hotel for free, travel or city tourism, as it is often called.

But the Saratoga project is even more ambitious. It is planned to expand its construction to 53 rooms with various services included, including a garden and swimming pool on the roof, from the rescue and adaptation of two colonial premises adjacent to the heritage building.

For this hotel, considered in its moment of splendor as "one of the oldest, of absolute seriousness and morality", hosted main figures of politics and art personalities, including Eduardo Chibás and Jesús Menéndez; Blanquita Amaro, Enrique Arredondo, Celina y Reutilio y Los Zafiros.
