Holguín farmers concluded the municipal assemblies of the XIII Congress of the National Association of Small Farmers (Anap) with the commitment to continue as strong ally of the Revolution and fulfill the task of producing food for the people.
According to Amaury Velázquez Zaldívar, president of the Anap in Holguín, these meetings had a high attendance rate of 90%, reflecting the commitment of agricultural producers to the organization and their willingness to fulfill assigned tasks.
The main topics discussed included banking access, due to difficulties in rural areas without access to banking services, and lack of cash for paying workers; the functioning of farmer´s associations, the cadre policy and the need for greater support from the entities to this union.
Combating crime and bureaucracy that hinder production, inconsistencies in marketing and chronic non-payments were also discussed by participants.
In addition, four delegates were selected to represent Holguín at the congress scheduled for May, where farmers from this eastern region will reaffirm once again
their strong alliance with the Revolution.
