Pre-launch event of the Industrial Science and Technology Park held in Holguín

"The dream of a better Holguín includes a Science and Technology Park, and is on the verge of becoming a reality," said Joel Queipo Ruiz, First Secretary of the Provincial Committee of the Party in his opening remarks at the pre-launch event of the Holguín Industrial Scientific and Technological Park (NUCL3UM), which was also attended by Manuel rancisco Hernández Aguilera, Governor of Holguín.
Representatives from different economic sectors, science and innovation entities, universities, entrepreneurs, and businesspeople from Holguín, Las Tunas, and Granma, participated in the event.
In the opening conference, Dr. C. Carlos Batista Matamoros, president of the PCTIH, presented project incubation lines such as Tourism and the Entertainment Industry; Products and Services for Business, Entrepreneurship, and Economic Development; Information technology, telecommunications, and software; Energy; Biotechnology, healthcare, and pharmaceuticals; Industry, mining, materials, construction, and infrastructure; Food safety; Integrated logistics and transportation; and Society, governance, and public administration.
Companies and entrepreneurs can submit ideas at various development stages to receive advice and evaluation from a Technical Advisory Council, which determines whether the project is accepted by the Park. One of the ways to do this is through the website www.nucl3um.cu.
Several proposals were shared during the event as part of the first IDEANOVA Seed Fair organized by the Park, with the aim to strengthen alliances between the companies and ventures represented.
In addition, the INTERGEST 2025 event was announced for June 2025, featuring a venture capital fair and the presentation of the first projects benefiting from the Holguín Industrial Science and Technology Park.
NUCL3UM aims to position Holguín as a hub of innovation in Cuba, fostering technology transfer and sustainable economic development.
