Victoria Cordero, an entrepreneur from Holguín, chose to establish her beauty salon in Holguín in 2013, leveraging her international experience in cosmetics to offer innovative services focused on enhancing natural beauty and health.
“There is in Holguín a certain type of customer, typical of this city, who has a propensity to value the beautiful and the good. That distinguishes the people of Holguín. Therefore, before opening my salon anywhere else, I decided to open it here”.
Her salon, initially the largest in the city, became a local benchmark, also promoting participation in business fairs to encourage growth and collaboration.
At one of these fairs, Victoria formed a partnership with the UEB of Medicinal Plants of Holguín to create the Victoria Natural line, which offers natural products such as infusions, oils, and essences.
This line is marketed in strategic stores, including one in collaboration with Lenin Hospital, which helps patients amid medication shortages, and a third store is planned to open soon.
On the other hand, Daniel González, founder of DaSens a small and medium enterprise specializing in beauty, personal care, and cleaning products, began by manufacturing hand sanitizer during the pandemic and has successfully established his company in the eastern region of Cuba.
The alliance between DaSens and Victoria has resulted in a line of pharmacosmetic products that combine Holguín’s natural resources, with more than 195 species of medicinal plants and other unique natural products from the region, such as local honey, and the technology and expertise of both brands.
Among the first products are treatments for common ailments such as lice and scabies, with a social responsibility focus on pricing and distribution, as well as hair care products, while work is underway on prototyping, dosing, and testing another important group of products.
This project represents not only a business collaboration but also a human connection and a commitment to local development and Holguín’s identity.
Both entrepreneurs see their work as building an authentic legacy that endures and represents their city and country.
