The Canadian mining company Sherritt International has finally decided to maintain its joint project with Cuba, reversing the dissolution plan announced days earlier amid the tightening of US sanctions against the island.
Russia is willing to study, if necessary, new oil supplies to Cuba, as well as other support measures, the Slavic country's Deputy Foreign Minister, Aleksandr Pankin, declared today.
In the general debate of the 13th Session of the Expert Mechanism on the Right to Development, Ambassador Ernesto Soberón Guzmán, Permanent Representative of Cuba to the United Nations, denounced that the current international economic order continues to be a structural barrier that hinders the development of nations in the Global South and obstructs the achievement of the 2030 Agenda Goals.

The Russian oil tanker Anatoly Kolodkin has arrived in Cuba, where it is currently awaiting unloading at the port of Matanzas, the Russian Ministry of Transport reported.
The Mexican Navy, acting as the Coast Guard, activated Plan Marina this Thursday to deploy search and rescue operations to locate two sailboats with nine crew members of different nationalities. The vessels departed Mexico on March 20th bound for Cuba, carrying humanitarian aid, and there is currently no information or confirmation of their arrival.
