“Wasi, the Phantom of the Piano” premiered in Holguín

The Oral Narration Company Palabras al Viento premiered on Saturday the play "Wasi, the ghost of the piano" as a demonstration of creative skill on the stage and a moment of delight for the public who attended the Eddy Sunol Theater, in Holguín.
Fermín López, director of the company, said that the staging of the play was aimed at achieving something more than telling a story, since he decided to bring the public, made up mostly of children, closer to classical music and its live performance.
“We proposed that the small spectators identify with the performance of Frederich Chopin's music”, he said to !ahora! digital, “it is inside his piano and in his house in Warsaw where the work takes place and where these characters confused with ghosts live, the mice in the story, thanks to which the musician will be able to achieve his virtuosity”.
With the intimacy offered by the arenas theater modality, the public can enjoy a show lasting around 40 minutes that was achieved from a very short story, written by the Mexican Soco Uribe.
It is a very small story", says the director, “we spent a lot of time making arrangements for the oral narration and thus we achieved a staging that has very little text and many images”.
In the play Wasi, the Phantom of the Piano, the set and costume design is in charge of Carel Maldonado, who studied the period in which the story takes place to achieve credible creations and create a splendid atmosphere in the staging.
The work ends with the same speech with which it begins, managing to place the theater itself as a functional piece in a speech that is fundamentally about art and that shows the Palabras al Viento Oral Narrative Company with a work consecrated with the increasing quality of its plays.
