The XXI edition of the Iberoarte Crafts Fair will take place from October 5 to 22 in Holguín, as part of the activities for the Ibero-American Culture Festival, dedicated on this occasion to Mexican creations.
Organized by the subsidiary of the Cuban Fund for Cultural Assets (FCBC) in Holguín, the fair will take place in the areas of the Expo Holguín Fairgrounds, and will have the participation of 66 foreign exhibitors from such as Mexico, Russia, Argentina and Peru.
Lisset Sera Rodríguez, FCBC communicator in this eastern city, said at press conference that the event will also host merchants, artists and artisans from various provinces of Cuba, such as Havana, Guantánamo, Las Tunas, and Holguín.
"The opening to the public will take place from October 6 at 10:00 am in approximately 100 stands; there will be exhibitions and sales of various items, including clothing, leather goods, goldsmithing and other varied expressions of craftsmanship."
The agenda also includes the cultural space Lote, dedicated to the promotion of the visual arts, which, parallel to the long-awaited fair, becomes one of the most significant collateral plazas of the event. It includes exhibitions of plastic arts by Cuban and foreign artists, which will be exhibited in the Fausto Cristo Gallery of the Union of Writers and Artists of Cuba, in the exhibition hall of the Pernik Hotel, and in the El Zaguán gallery of the FCBC itself.
Iberoarte is a popular space, as it is a valuable proposal that allows the approach to artisanal pieces and items in high demand for the home. With these fairs, the Holguín subsidiary of the fund has contributed significant income to the local and national economy.
