Casa de Iberoamérica calls for the José Manuel Guarch Delmonte Prize

With the aim to promote knowledge of archaeological, historical, cultural, economic and political topics, the Casa de Iberoamérica in Holguín invites to participate in the “José Manuel Guarch Delmonte” Annual Research Award.
Organized by the Casa de Iberoamérica and the “José Manuel Guarch Delmonte” Honorary Chair of the University of Holguín, all national specialists who work in disciplines such as Archeology, History, culture and Anthropology may participate In the contest, which will address issues related to the processes of constitution and development of Cuban nationality.
The contest, which is a tribute to Guarch Delmonte for being the founding director of the Casa de Iberoamérica, includes in the prize the publication of the winning work by the Holguín publishers.
The works submitted, in essay, monograph or biography format, with an extension of between 100 and 200 pages, must not have been awarded in previous contests.
The deadline for admission of works expires on September 15 and the award ceremony will take place between October 25 and 27, during the sessions of the Ibero-American Congress of Thought.
According to the organizing committee of the contest, winners will not be able to compete until two editions after their award.
Doctor of Science José Manuel Guarch Delmonte is the precursor of archaeological studies in Cuba, to whom we owe, in large measure, the depth and scientific rigor with which the knowledge of the pre-Columbian past of our native peoples is approached. (Source: Radio Angulo)
