Holguín hosts conference on visual arts criticism

The sixth conference of theory and criticism of visual arts "A shot in the hole" will take place from September 11 to 14 in the province of Holguín with the presence of personalities from the union who will address the genre from various spaces.
Yurisel Moreno, director of the Provincial Center of Plastic Arts (CPAP) explained at press conference that the event has the objective of updating the aspects that revolve around artistic production and thought both in Cuba and in the world through exchange with specialists to develop the training of professionals dedicated to criticism.
Nelson Herrera Ysla, specialist at the Wilfredo Lam Contemporary Art Center; Jorge Núñez Motes, professor at the University of the Arts and Tania Dranguet Guerrero, head of the criticism and research section of the Hermanos Saíz Association in Santiago de Cuba are among the guests of this edition.
Moreno said that the conference will open with the exhibition "The noise, the silence", by the artist Cristhian Escalona, in the CPAP Transitional Room; while the exhibition "It is not time for flowers", by Bertha Beltrán, will close the event.
A Shot in the Hole is a biennial event that was held for the first time in 2014 and promotes new ways of approaching art through exchanges with experts in the field.
