Iberoarte International Crafts Fair will return to Holguín

With the participation of artisans from Peru, India, Ecuador and Argentina, the 22nd edition of the Iberoarte International Crafts Fair will take place in Holguín from October 10 to 26, dedicated on this occasion to the culture of the province of Santiago de Cuba.

The Expo Holguín fairgrounds will host around 20 foreign exhibitors, who will exhibit textile clothing, saddlery, goldsmithing and other varied expressions of this type of artistic manifestation.

Carmen Hernández Torres, commercial head of the Cuban Fund for Cultural Assets (FCBC) in the territory and organizer of the event, announced at press conference that the event will also bring together artists from Havana, Holguín and Las Tunas, who will have the opportunity to exhibit and trade their creations.

Lote, a space for the promotion of the visual arts will be dedicated to the artist Humberto Socas del Río. Its exhibitions will be characterized by highlighting the color and temperature of Santiago de Cuba, commented Hernández Torres.

The event Encuentro de Papeleros is part of the activities organized by the publishing house Cuadernos Papiro, dedicated to the production of manufactured paper and the work with natural fibers in their books.

Sponsored by the Holguín branch of the FCBC, the Iberoarte International Crafts Fair is the second most important of its kind developed in the country, with the aim to promote the different artistic expressions and cultural exchange. (Source: ACN)
