Dedicated to promoting cultural industries in favor of young art, the Romerías de Mayo, main event of the Hermanos Saíz Association (AHS) in Holguín, calls on young creators and artists from around the world to celebrate its 32nd edition from May 2 to 8 in this eastern Cuban city.
Yasel Toledo Garnache, national president of AHS, in exclusive statements to ACN said that Las Romerías the most important events organized by the AHSin the country, with the presence of creators from different generations and regions to promote art in all its spheres and maintain the humanistic sense.
We plan to make the cultural industries visible because of the importance that we grant to the act of creation itself, but also to the process that includes the exhibition and distribution that, in the current Cuban context of the world, it is very important to recognize it and take advantage of its potential not only in the sector, but also in companies, organizations and institutions, commented Toledo Garnache.
She pointed out that Holguín remains the ideal setting for the Romerías due to the welcome it has received from the people, the scope of national and international attendance that it has in each of its editions, and she considered as indispensable the linkage between provincial institutions and organizations that support the development of the multicultural event.
According to the event's management on its social networks, the edition aims to bring together artists motivated by the creation of spaces and content, sponsorship and the multiplicity of sources of resources and financing, in line with the country's cultural policy.
Under the premise of tradition and modernity in defense of the identity values of our people, the Romerías de Mayo calls for regular spaces such as Bloguerías, a media forum to bring technological development closer to the cultural industry; Babel, for the plastic arts; Cámara Azul, committed to young audiovisual producers; and Raíces, dedicated to amateur artists, among others yet to be announced.
This event, which has become the World Festival of Young Artists, has made Holguín the capital of young art since 1994, bringing together the best creators and artists from the island and other countries every year to celebrate culture in all its forms.
