Holguin Culture Week Addresses Local Identity

Photos: Ernesto HerreraThe Third Provincial Art-Cult Workshop began today in Holguin, as part of the 36th edition of the Culture Week taking place in this eastern Cuban city. 
The event promotes the debate on the identity and revitalization of the sector involving professionals and community actors, artists and decision makers of the territory.The meeting highlights the Socio-Community Project "Angel Augier, belonging to the municipality of Rafael Freyre, which aims to safeguard the customs of Santa Lucía.
The project has won several contests including the Provincial Award for Community Culture and Memoria Nuestra 2017, Cucalambeana Day, 37 Caribbean Festival, XII Ibero-American Congress, - which reaffirm its value as an exponent of the Holguin peasant tradition.The event opened with the conference on "Cultural Tourism, cultural products and tourism offer", by MSc. José Antonio Torres Brizuela, from the cultural tourism agency Paradiso, one of the two existing in the Island.
