Provincial workshop on History to be held in Holguín

The Provincial Workshop on History of Holguín will be held on Thursday, June 1, at the Mariana Grajales University of Medical Sciences, as a preamble to the 25th National History Congress, scheduled for December in the central province of Villa Clara.
History of Cuban thought in its various expressions, Fundamental events of the Cuban people's war of national liberation between 1952 and 1958 and its historical context, The Cuban Revolution in power: history and historiography, and The research-teaching relationship in teaching and writing of history are the thematic lines to which the papers presented must subscribe.
Six commissions will evaluate the works, which must be unpublished, original and with relevant scientific contributions.
The works presented are eligible for the National Congress, as long as they respond to the established thematic lines, according to Rosabel Reyes, a publicist at the Union of Historians of Cuba (UNHIC) in Holguín.
She added that, after their presentation, the shortlisted authors will receive suggestions for modifications from the jury, which must be arranged and the papers returned before June 16 to the UNHIC headquarters.
They will be delivered on June 18 to the Provincial Admission Committee, which will be in charge of selecting the works to be sent to the National Admission Commission.
The National History Congress was held for the first time in 1942, under the auspices of the Cuban Society for Historical Studies and the Office of the Historian of the city of Havana, and was revived in 1997, in response to one of the agreements of the Third Congress of UNHIC.
