Holguín municipality celebrates 66th anniversary of the Revolution

Under the principle of advancing in the development of the territory and consolidating the results achieved during this year, the people of Holguín celebrated this Thursday the provincial event for the 66th anniversary of the Triumph of the Cuban Revolution, in the municipality of Rafael Freyre, headquarters of the central activities for the commemoration.
Joel Queipo Ruiz, member of the Central Committee and first secretary of the provincial Committee of the Party in Holguín, pointed out the challenges and difficulties faced this year and stressed the need to increase exportable items, their sales and the fulfillment of physical productions, especially agricultural products that guarantee food for the people.
He referred to some positive results in the province as a result of greater control and the fight against tax evasion and under-declaration of income, the more than 18 thousand jobs generated by the 676 new economic actors approved, the reduction of the budget deficit, the advances in banking, social protection and the work in more than 50 communities in transformation.
Referring to the performance of Health and Education, he spoke of the infant mortality rate of 5.3, the repair of institutions and the continuity of studies, among other achievements of these sectors that have had to face immense challenges.
Queipo Ruiz emphasized the priorities added to the work of the territory based on attention to the issues of defense and the promotion of productive activity, the revitalization of tourism, business development and the integration of all economic actors, as well as the improvement of social protection policies.
Yanelis Rodríguez Paneque, first secretary of the municipal Party Committee in Rafael Freyre, conveyed the commitment of the locals to contribute to this purpose after highlighting the effort and dedication of this town to achieve results in local self-sufficiency and in other areas of the economic, political and social sphere, which accredited them as a worthy venue for the celebrations for the revolutionary triumph.
The occasion gave rise to the recognition of institutions, organizations and entities of the municipality and the province, among them the Lidio Ramón Pérez thermoelectric plant of Felton, as well as workers of the Electric Company who gave their contribution in the recovery from the meteorological events that hit the country.
