Strategic Exercise Bastion 2024 began in Holguín

Under the principle that the preparation of the people for defense is a guarantee of the sovereignty of the country, the Strategic Exercise Bastion 2024 began this Wednesday in the northeastern province of Holguín.
The Exercise began in Holguín with the activation of the Management and Command Bodies at the different levels, which on this first day focused its attention on the preparation of these structures in order to raise their combat readiness.
When their command posts were activated at 9:00 a.m. on January 22, in the Eastern Army and the Holguín Military Region, with their respective chiefs at the helm, Major General Eugenio Rabilero Aguilera and First Colonel Luis de la Cruz Medina, the activities began with a characterization of the enemy's aggressions in a scenario of Unconventional Warfare, the clarification of the missions for each of these commands and the instructions to the chiefs of specialties linked to the tasks to be carried out in this stage.
The Provincial Defense Council, headed by its president Joel Queipo Ruiz, also specified the plans foreseen in the face of risk situations, threats and aggressions to internal security in a scenario of Unconventional Warfare and the fight against the enemy's invasion.
Likewise, the actions of the working groups and subgroups that guarantee the vitality of services to the population and the activities planned for the Bastion were checked, which include maneuvers and tactical exercises of different types, in which units of the Revolutionary Armed Forces, the Ministry of the Interior and other components of the territorial defense system participate.
This exercise, which is crucial in the necessary preparation to increase the country's readiness for defense, strengthen the Revolution's invulnerability on the military level and be able to face the different actions of the enemy in better conditions, is taking place until January 24.
