More than 1,800 new professionals graduate from the University of Holguín

The University of Holguín, accredited for Excellence and nearing its 57th anniversary, celebrated the graduation of more than 1,800 new professionals from various study modalities during the 2024-2025 academic year ceremony.

The event, held at the José de la Luz y Caballero university headquarters, was a joyful occasion for graduates, their families, and faculty. It was dedicated to important Cuban historical figures and dates, and the best graduates were recognized, highlighting Journalism graduate Libán Fernando Espinosa, who expressed gratitude on behalf of the students to the university community for their professional and personal development.

In the ceremony, it was highlighted the participation of the FEU in the development of young revolutionaries and awarded the outstanding graduates: 86 received the Scientific Merit Award and 238 the Gold Title, the highest academic distinction.

The rector of UHo, Dr.C Aniuska Ortiz Pérez, emphasized the importance of resilience, excellence, and the ethical and human commitment of graduates for the country’s future.

The university has graduated more than 53,000 students throughout its history, including those from short-cycle programs. The event was attended by provincial and university authorities, employers, and family members.
