Ibero-American Culture Festival Begins in Holguín

The celebrations for the 25th anniversary of the Ibero-American Center this October 23 will open the activities for the Ibero-American Culture Festival (IACF) that will take place until 30 October in the northeastern province of Holguín.
In its 24th edition, the Fiesta is dedicated to the 150th anniversary of the beginning of the Cuban Independence Wars, the 90 anniversary of Ernesto Che Guevara, the four decades of the Cuban Fund of Cultural Assets and the 30th anniversary of its branch in Holguín.

The event will officially open with a cultural gala at the Eddy Suñol Theater on the 24th, with the performance of music bands from neighboring provinces and local artists.
The agenda also includes the Fiesta Campesina, which will take place in Fray Benito on the 25th and 26th; while Liuba María Hevia will offer a concert in Gibara on October 29th.
The Ibero-American Congress of Thought is scheduled for October 25 in the conference hall of the Hotel Pernik, which will conclude with the delivery of the José Manuel Guarch Research Prize.

The afternoon of this day will be reserved for the colorful Ibero-American Parade, with the participation of delegates, guests and people in general.
On 26 and 27, the event will welcome the International Solidarity Brigades, and on the 28th, the traditional visit to the Encuentro entre Dos Culturas monument, in Bariay, the place where Cristóbal Colón landed in 1492.
Other activities planned include the Ibero-American Colloquium of Letters, at the headquarters of the Union of Writers and Artists of Cuba, while the Provincial Museum La Periquera will host the Iberian Cultural Center, with the Festival of Artisanal Wines. The Casa del Taita, a space where the African roots of Iberian cultures are recognized, will host the Ilé de la Rumba.
