Holguín’s football players to national preselections

Due to the positive results of the season, 10 football players from Holguín have been included in the national preselections, which were recently summoned for international events involving the different categories.
The talented strikers Cristian Valiente Osorio and Marcos Antonio Campos Surén are part of the extended group that is getting ready, starting this Tuesday, to participate in the next League of Nations, scheduled for September 8, when the Cuban Lions will compete against Haiti in the Dominican Republic.
Cristian and Marcos showed excellent conditions in the last edition of the Cuban Soccer League and were key figures in second place for the Panteras de Holguín team in the Closing Tournament.
Osmel Valdivia Pardo, national coach of this discipline, said that the group will be training in Ciego de Ávila until August 24, with the objective of identifying the main Cuban players to face three friendly matches planned for in November in Guatemala.
In December we intend to develop the Caribbean Cup in Cuba, for which the Nicaraguan squad has already been confirmed, in addition, we expect the presence of teams from Costa Rica and Panama, added Valdivia Pardo.
The young Liennis Mariam Cáceres Almeida, Yenifer Aguilera Mir, Delenis Acosta Aguilera and Elismay Isabel Romero Castro, are in Havana as part of the training sessions for the Cuban pre-selection team, which will prepare for the 2023 Concacaf Qualifying Tournament, scheduled for 25 from August to September 3.
Lázaro Díaz, the captain of the Cuban Under-15 team, achieved two goals for the team in the Concacaf Cup, which recently ended in the Dominican Republic.
For his part, Emmanuel Gómez was summoned to the U-20 national pre-selection, but he did not join the training sessions, according to Omar Montero, provincial commissioner, an indiscipline that leaves him with no options to integrate the Cuban team in that category.
This season’s performance of the Holguín football team will allow it to climb on the national table by provinces.
